Touch Plate (Tool Height Setter?)
Whatever you’d like to call it, this is something that I’ve been wanting to add since I finished the machine. As some of you know, I am a big proponent of having a good and efficient workflow, and I feel like having a tool height setter is an important part of that.
I made a video showing how I have mine set up, and talk through some of the scripting behind it as well. I will have a link to the exact tool height setter below, and while it isn’t the cheapest one out there, I feel that it will meet my needs for years to come.

You can download the script here. Feel free to use this script (at your own risk) and modify it to fit your needs. If you aren’t using the Axis Probe Screen add on in LinuxCNC, then the variables in square brackets can be changed for actual values instead. Those variables are put there so you can easily change them from the Probe Screen.
